Ms. Boyd was named a semi-finalist in the 2012 Opera Birmingham Vocal Competition. Only 20 singers were chosen from across the United States. The semi-final round was held on May 19th, at the University of Alabama’s School of Music.
Ms. Boyd was awarded “2012 Best Actress in a Musical” for her role as “Christine” in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera.
At the finish of the 2012-13 season, Ms. Boyd was the recipient of two prestigious awards. First, for academic excellence and performance history, she was awarded the Elizabeth and Harold Robinson Scholars and Fellows Fund.
